TDW of Ellis County August 15, 2023 Meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Mary Lou Shipley at 6 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Mary Lou reported to everyone about Helen Brock’s accident.
Lynda read the July minutes and they were accepted as read.
Mary Brooks, our Treasurer, reported that the PAC account has $2,635.12 and the Scholarship account has $3,549.00. Over $2000 has been donated in memory of Emma Wilson.
Tim Hardesty with Hardesty Law gave an informative talk to the group about estate planning.
Julie Mendenhall reported that our September speaker will be from Hope Health and that the baby shower for Hope Health will be held on September 30 from 2 to 4 PM.
Mary Lou reminded everyone to attend the ice cream social on Saturday, August 19 at noon to meet three Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate.
Mary Lou told the group that the façade grant from Historic Waxahachie, Inc. had been granted and that construction could now begin.
Mary Lou reminded everyone about the TDW lunch at Panera Bread on Tuesday, August 22 at 11:45.
Mary Brooks made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Rebecca Cockerham seconded it.
