We invite all members to join a committee.  As a member of a committee, you can take a leading role, or work on small projects here and there, depending on your schedule and availability.  We have something for everyone!

As a group, you will be responsible for each other and for carrying out the functions of your committee. And, the most fun — joining a committee is how you get to know other members!

The Community Outreach Committee organizes service opportunities with community-based non-profit organizations in Ellis County. This gives TDW members an opportunity to give back to the communities in which they live and work. By working together, the Committee believes that the combined volunteer effort of all Democrats can have a great impact on the world around us, while bringing the members and our communities closer together.

Past events have included:

• Hope Clinic: Baby Shower for expectant mothers
• Helping Hands of Ennis: Food drive
• North Ellis County Outreach: Food drive
• Texas Baptist Children’s Home: Toy drive at Christmas

The Program Committee recruits speakers to help us learn more about our local, state, and national government and other issues that affect us.

The Public Relations Committee works with the ECD to keep the public informed about the presence and the work of the local Democratic organization.

The Scholarship Committee – The Scholarship Committee oversees the selection and distribution of the annual scholarship(s.) The committee solicits applications from seniors at Ellis County high schools and makes decisions on the applicants’ responses.

Voter Registration – The Voter Registration Committee provides people to register voters in the high schools and works with ECD to offer voter registration training and voter registration opportunities.

The Fundraising Committee raises funds to support Democratic candidates, to fund scholarships for students of Ellis County and to support the work of the TDW-EC and the Texas Democratic Party.
