Minutes – April 17, 2021
Meeting began at 4:00pm via zoom. President Helen Brock welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Helen asked everyone to mute their audio while the the guest speaker was talking.
Helen introduced Shawn Lassiter, a candidate for Congress District 6. She spoke of her background as an educator, community organizer and single Mom and her priorities if she wins the seat.
All pledged allegiance to the flag.
Tina Williams read the March 20th meeting minutes . Vivian Gibson corrected the Early Voting dates
Becky Cockerham gave the Treasury report in the absence of Lynda Begnaud. The total balance is $5109.88

New Business
Helen discussed continuing to support Red Cross to help the migrant children housed in the Dallas Convention Center. Becky mentioned the Catholic Charities are also helping.
Tina Williams offered to call hotels to ask for donations of amenities.
Barbara Fudge made a motion to send $200.00 to Red Cross to be designated for migrant children
Becky Cockerham seconded.
Tina Williams talked about collecting aluminum cans and how the money could be designated for TDW Ellis County. Tina mentioned she would organize the auction again for November.
There was some discussion whether it would be feasible to plan the Afternoon Tea for fall. General consensus was it would still be too early because of the pandemic .
Helen made a motion to adjourn at 4:30pm and Tina Williams seconded it.
