Minutes of Texas Democratic Women of Ellis County at 6pm on 5/16/2023
Meeting was called to order @6:05 by President Mary Lou Shipley.
In attendance were Mary Brooks, Rebecca Cockerham, Barbara Fudge, Vivian Gibson, Julie Mendenhall, Mary Lou Shipley and Jean Woods.
Pledge was recited.
Treas. report was given by Mary Brooks:
This month $680 was donated for a total of $1655 resulting from our letter of solicitation. Balance in PAC account is $2723.9. Balance in Scholarship account is $2600.69.
Our program was a presentation by Belinda Douglas of Hospice Plus. Followed by Q & A.
Committee Reports:
Scholarship:
An $800 scholarship was awarded to a Maypearl student last week.
An $800 scholarship is to be awarded to a Palmer student this Thurs.
Social Committee:
Pool Party 6/4, 5-7 @home of Mary Brooks.
Bring finger foods if desired.
4th Tuesday sack lunch @HQ 5/23.
Outreach Committee:
The suggestion was made that we donate to food banks around the county, not just one. Manna House in Midlothian and Helping Hands in Ennis were suggested.
