Scholarships

Since 2017, the Texas Democratic Women of Ellis County organization has been providing an annual one-time scholarship to a graduating senior in the Ellis County Public School system.  The amount of the scholarship is dependent on fund availability.  Each year a different school district is selected based on a rotation method between the following districts:  Waxahachie ISD, Midlothian ISD, Ennis ISD, Palmer ISD, Red Oak ISD, Ferris ISD, Palmer ISD, Italy ISD, Maypearl ISD and Milford ISD.

For 2026, Midlothian Heritage and Midlothian High Schools have been selected.  A $1,500.00 scholarship is available for a graduating senior at Midlothian Heritage. To apply at Midlothian Heritage High School, contact the College Liaison, Anette Hernandez at anette.hernandez@midlothianisd.org.  A $1,500.00 scholarship is available for a graduating senior at Midlothian High. To apply at Midlothian High School, contact Monica Wolf at monica.wolf@misd.org.

This scholarship honors not only our longtime member, Emma Wilson, but also honors very deserving Ellis County High School graduates.
